Privacy Policy

RedditStories Uploader ("the App") is a personal-use desktop tool that publishes short videos to the user's own social-media accounts. This page explains what data the App handles and how.

1. What we collect

The App does not run a server and does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on any third-party infrastructure that we control. All processing happens locally on your computer.

The App holds the following data locally on your machine only:

• OAuth tokens for the platforms you authorize (TikTok, YouTube). Stored in tiktok_token.json and token.json in the project folder.
• Generated media files (audio, captions, videos, title cards) saved in the output/ folder.
• A list of Reddit post IDs already used, stored in used.json, to avoid duplicate uploads.

2. How we use platform APIs

The App calls the official APIs of the platforms you authorize:

• TikTok Content Posting API — to upload videos to your own TikTok account, with the scopes you explicitly grant (video.upload and/or video.publish).
• YouTube Data API v3 — to upload videos to your own YouTube channel under the youtube.upload scope.
• Reddit public JSON — read-only access to publicly available posts. No Reddit account is required.

The App requests only the minimum scopes needed to publish content. It does not read your DMs, followers, friends list, or any private data beyond what is required to post.

3. Sharing

We do not sell, share, or transmit your data to any third party. Tokens and generated files never leave your machine.

4. Retention & deletion

You may delete the App's local files at any time. To fully revoke the App's access to your accounts:

• TikTok: Settings & privacy → Security & permissions → Manage app permissions → remove this app.
• YouTube/Google: visit myaccount.google.com/permissions and revoke this app.

5. Children's privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly process data from anyone under 13.
